So I have been eyeing this little set of Algenist Reveal Concentrated Luminizing Drops since October and I guess everyone else was too because they quickly sold out, and they stayed sold out through the VIB Sale at Sephora. So I ordered them on Black Friday through but I should have waited for Cyber Monday for free shipping. #ugh #thatslife Anyway, they are back at now and I have to say these little babies are worth it and a great deal for $22! You are getting two half sized bottles (.23 oz) in Rosè and Champagne. The full sized of one of these is .5 oz for $38. Here you are getting .46 oz for $22, plus two different colors. I have to be honest, I don’t know what you would do with one .5 oz bottle of these- that’s a lot of this type of product. These remind me of the Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops except maybe less metallic (also .5 oz but for $42). I have “heard” that these Algenist ones are easier to blend. Algenist is a small line focused more on skin care than makeup, but they are dipping their toes in with these drops as well as color correctors, primers, foundation, powder and concealer. They claim their makeup is also skincare related with the power of algae- more about that in a minute. For $22 these drops are versatile, beautiful, and worth a try!

Product: Both the Rosè and Champagne shades are of a serum type consistency, but are easy to blend to get you that perfect glow. You have some time to work with these as well to place the product exactly where you want it to be. In the swatch picture above you can see the concentrated form as well where I have blended it out to see what it would like on the face. Since it is a serum/watery consistency, you do not need a lot of it- also keep in mind that these are quite pigmented. #alittlegoesalongway Just place one drop on your finger, press between two fingers, dot each finger on your cheek bone, and blend with fingers, brush, or sponge. As for the shades, Rosè is an icy pale pink pearl and Champagne is a traditional golden pearl. There is absolutely no glitter in these- just a pearlescent shimmer (note: there are some errant sparkles on my hand in the photo but that was from a product that I had swatched right before these and couldn’t get the sparkle off even with makeup wipes!). I HATE glitter and sparkles on my face that I can see in my rearview mirror once I’m out of the house and there’s nothing I can do! #vulnerable #petpeeve Champagne is a little bit more subdued than Rosè and makes it quite easy to mix with foundation, primer, or moisturizer for an all over glow and not just targeted highlighting. I have actually used Rosè to lighten a matte foundation as well as it give it a little glow. I bet you could mix the two colors together too, haven’t tried that yet! This a good alternative to cream highlight because it does not look greasy nor does it feel tacky on the skin, and it’s a pretty awesome liquid highlight in that regard as well. This product is said to have algae in it for the following skincare benefits (taken from

-Alguronic Acid: Patented regenerative compound produced from microalgae and proven in scientific testing to improve the appearance of firmness which results in more toned and younger-looking skin.
-Algacorrecting Complex: Unique microalgae and pigments treat the main concerns of uneven skin by soothing, brightening, and neutralizing skintone.
-Microalgae Oil: Patented regenerative compound produced from microalgae and proven in scientific testing to improve the appearance of firmness which results in more toned and smoother skin.

Packaging: Both of these bottles are .23 oz and come with a dropper. I am not 100% a fan of the dropper because product tends to collect in the bottle opening when having to take the dropper in and out- eventually becoming messy and pooling on the outside of where the top screws back on. I understand a dropper is probably needed in this scenario because of the product being so thin- a pump would just give you too much product. The bottle itself is a frosted glass bottle that feels significant. I don’t think you would have to worry about anything while traveling, but I probably wouldn’t want to drop it on a hard surface like tile, granite, or marble.

Overall  I am quite pleased with this mini set, which in actuality, is like getting a full sized- almost. I definitely think this is worth your time and money if you are into highlight or wanting try out a liquid highlight. #loveit #noregrets
