Becca wants to make you glow this summer and I have nothing against that! If I have learned anything from the makeup world- it’s buy Becca palettes and buy Anastasia Beverly Hills eye palettes when released. They are no brainers and you can’t wrong, they usually sell out and are usually good quality. I recently picked up the Becca Sunchaser Palette ($34, now $20)(see my review and swatches here!) and then I was enticed by the Sephora app with the early release of the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette ($46) last week. This palette will be released 5/11/17 on sephora.com. This particular post is going to focus on the Chrissy Teigen palette as a Part 1 with the Sunchaser Palette to be talked about in Part 2. 🙂

Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette– There has been all kind of drama in the comments section of sephora.com for this Chrissy Teigen collab (some have since been deleted). Some are saying that it’s only for medium to dark skin tones, some are saying that pigmentation is bad, color payoff is bad and it’s not up to Becca quality, and some are saying it’s the same as the Jaclyn Hill Glow Palette. With all this negativity, I was prepared to return this palette before it even arrived with 2-day shipping. I am happy to say that I am pleased with this palette, I am light in complexion and it still works for me. Maybe there were some quality control issues? but my palette is golden! I feel this is up to par from what I expect from Becca in terms of quality and pigmentation. I feel this palette can work for a multitude of skin tones depending on what you are wanting and is fairly versatile. This is a palette for a natural look so the shades are not deep. I find they are pigmented for what they are- you also need to know every shade has shimmer although the bronzer has minimal shimmer. The swatches below are single finger swatches with nothing underneath and I pretty much suck at swatching so I feel these are good quality for them to show this well.

So, Let’s talk about what you get in this palette: 2 large Shimmering Skin Perfector highlights in Rose Gold and Beach Nectar (both .18 oz), 1 Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil (.085 oz), and 1 Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom (.085 oz). Rose Gold is already a color they have in the regular collection, but the other three shades are exclusive to this palette (for now, we know you Becca #throwingshade).  I LOVE the Beach Nectar highlight and the Hibiscus Bloom blush. The Beach Nectar Highlight is so beautiful- a peachy pink pearl shimmer. Hibiscus Bloom is the perfect natural pink blush- like I just got a little sun or I was outside and got a little hot- or other naughty things that make you hot #winkwink. Rose Gold highlight is a natural, skin tone color highlight on me, so subtle, and I bet it would look amazing on medium and dark skin tones. The Malibu Soleil bronzer is a light neutral bronzer with minimal shimmer and it gave me a light bronze look with no orange or off colored appearance. I will say this shade is “lighter” for a bronze so maybe for medium to dark skin tones, this will give you a natural healthy glow and not look “bronze” per say. I love this shade for the eye too. In fact, while I write this I am wearing Beach Nectar on my lid with Malibu Soleil in the crease for a natural eye look today. #lovemyversatility This definitely seems worth the price if you’re doubling these shades as shadows too.

There is only one similarity of this palette to the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette and that is the outside packaging. It has the same shiny plastic covering that sticks to all your other palettes, except this palette is in a rose gold motif. I’m not a fan. I wasn’t a fan the first time around, and I’m still not! But I never let packaging get me down because it’s what’s on the inside that counts. I did a comparison shot of Rose Gold and Beach Nectar Skin Perfectors to the Champagne Pop from the JH Palette and there are no dupes. I also compared they above three to the Rose Quartz and all four are very different. So there is room for this palette in your makeup wardrobe- especially for summer. It’s a great all around summertime face palette with highlight, bronzer, and blush. This is the quintessential beach summer glow palette! 🙂 #noregrets #notreturning
