Although I have been unable to post as much in December and January- I’m hoping to be more engaged in February- starting with my favorite beauty products from January! Now it goes without saying that the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette, Tarte Shape Tape, and Chanel Le Volume Mascara are used on the daily, so these favorites are in addition to those 🙂

As some of you many know, IT Cosmetics had a TSV in January featuring their new Confidence in a Compact. (You can now get it from Ulta by itself for $38) IT Cosmetics receives a lot of love from this blog and I knew I had to try this foundation. See my swatch of the light shade, how I apply, and my mini review here! At that time, I also ordered a lip set that came with the lip treatment and a new soft stain gloss called the It’s Your Je Ne Sais Quoi lip Collection. Well I have been loving this gloss! This gloss goes on clear but gives me my perfect pink- not that garish hot pink usually described as your pink- but a light pink flush on the lips, which is perfect for a natural or no-makeup look. Since it is a stain, the color sticks around longer than most glosses. It is also fragrance and taste free as well as being very hydrating- a necessity in the winter! I am partial to their glosses anyway- they have a nice slip without being sticky or gooey as well as being hydrating so when the gloss finally wears off my lips just feel like I have balm on them instead of sticky or peeling.

Some Drugstore finds are next! I checked out Wet n Wild’s Liquid Catsuit which is a liquid lipstick for about $4.99. The only shade that really appealed to me was Rebel Rose, but it did not disappoint. It is like a liquid lipstick version of Kat Von D’s Lovecraft matte lipstick (see swatch here) which I love. It’s a nice neutral rosy mauve. I’m not a big fan of liquid lipstick but to me this has been just as good as the Jouer ones that I have. So I definitely recommend checking these out if you wanted to try a liquid lip or like a liquid lip! You know I love blush and one of my favorite matte blushes from the “drugstore” really Five Below, is City Color Be Matte Blush. They are $3 and i haven’t found a color a I didn’t like yet. This month I found Blackberry in my five below which is a very pretty light plummy nude color, which is more pigmented than Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose. These could possibly be the best blushes as the drugstore! I mean they are $3! Also, I have still really been enjoying the Flower Beauty Shimmer and Strobe highlighting palette ($12.97). All three shades show up on my fair skin and I like that I have three options. See my review and swatches here!

Last but not least, the moisturizer that has been saving my skin with this crazy winter weather is LXMI Creme Du Nil Moisture Veil (1.2 oz $58). I bought this after Christmas with a gift card after getting a sample from in store and on line and took the plunge. I don’t normally change up my skincare that often as I have sensitive skin prone to freckling and clogged pores, oh yeah and it’s also dry in the winter. lovely. I don’t normally talk about skincare too much on this blog- unless I am using it and loving it myself and I feel you need to know about it. This moisturizer is creamy and a medium weight- meaning not too thick or thin. A little bit goes a long way and it’s easily absorbed into the skin and my skin instantly feels moisturized. It also has hibiscus flower acids in it (so the box says) that keeps skin texture at bay- so it’s moisturizing and refining the skin at the same time. It has been awesome. I also love that it comes with a spatula that has a massaging metal ball at the end of it for around the eyes. Apparently this is not for everyone though as it has very mixed reviews on This states it’s for all skin types- I doubt this. I probably won’t be able to use this in the summer because it will be too much moisture, so I personally would not recommend this cream if you are oily or combo. It’s perfect right now in January and February! So if you are struggling with dry patches or dehydrated skin right now- this is your cream!
