I recently ordered this IT Cosmetics Makeup Cleansing Balm from QVC when it was on 6 easy pays for the customer choice awards. I had heard a lot of good things about it when it debuted in March with a TSV, but I already have and like my Boscia Makeup Meltdown Oil Cleanser and have used it for years. I’m so glad that I took the leap of faith because I really like this makeup removing balm! Therefore, I wanted to share with you my thoughts in a quick review!
The IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm (by the way IT Cosmetics is the best at making long titles for their products) is $38 for 2.82 oz and can be purchased at Sephora.com (also saw this in my Sephora store) and QVC.com as well as ITCosmetics.com. This is a solid balm consistency and feels very much like coconut oil. I have to scrape it out with a spatula or my finger. It starts solid and then once you rub it onto your dry face, it quickly liquifies or “melts” and emulsifies makeup. I reiterate, you will put this on a dry face, much like you would use an oil cleanser, but the difference is you can just wipe this balm off with a face cloth or rinse off with water right away and all your makeup is off. With my Boscia oil cleanser, I have to emulsify the oil myself with damp fingers several times, and this can be a process, but I haven’t minded because it gets off all my makeup. News Flash, this balm is talking off my makeup in a much quicker and less messy amount of time! As I mentioned way back in my Taking it Off post, I like to wash my face again after my makeup remover cleanser just to get off any possible residue. This Cleansing Balm leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft without any waxy or oily residue that you can sometimes have with oil cleansers or hydrating cleansers (looking at you Josie Maran Cleansing Oil and Cerave Hydrating Cleanser). I also have not had any adverse or allergic reactions to this balm which is a plus. I am mostly using this in the evening right now, but I’m sure if you needed a hydrating cleanser in the morning this is a good option for that too. You don’t have to be wearing makeup for this to cleanse your skin. I think it will be great for the upcoming winter months when my skin sometimes feels dry after cleansing even when using my cleansing oil. Also FYI, IT Cosmetics will be having a QVC TSV November 12, 2016. Not sure what is in it yet, but I will post if I see anything. I’m hoping for this balm and maybe a CC cream. I honestly don’t know what they are going to have. I love surprises as much as the next person, but I also just like to know!
