I’ve been noticing recently that I’m starting to have some dupes of products in my collection. I tend to be attracted to the same colors over and over again, as well as similar types of products. Instead of doing them all in one post, I’m going to split them up into several posts. Plus, I feel like I’m always finding new dupes! Today we are talking a blush, and a very popular lip balm! I feel that both sets of dupes I will talk about today are both very similar in tone and color, but there are some minor differences in texture or formula. I’m also going to disparage a long held belief that Milani’s luminoso is a dupe of NARS Orgasm blush. #sadbuttrue #theswatchdoesntlie
Lip Dupe: Dior Addict Lip Glow is a favorite among many, including myself. It’s a great balm that gives your lips a hint of pink, but not hot pink like a lot of ph lip products (ELF glow lipstick or IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi). I’m comparing this to Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Glow (both have “glow” in the title coincidentally enough 😉) which is a balm that goes on clear like the Dior and changes to give your lips a hint of natural pink. #Istressthatitisahintofpink Although the formulas feel different, they are both balms and both are moisturizing. Unfortunately, I can’t really swatch these because the pink is so faint on both these products, but both of these balms have the same end result and color on the lips- a moisturizing hint of pink, barely perceptible but a natural looking pink lip. The Dior Addict Lip Glow is $33 and the Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Glow is $3.50. Now that is an awesome dupe! #worthatry
Blush Dupe– I have found that these two blushes are virtually the same in color, but not necessarily in texture. If you love the dusty rose color of Laura Geller’s Pink Buttercream and you can stand a little shimmer/sparkle- Milani’s Dolce Pink is gonna be your drugstore dupe. You can see the shade is pretty much dead on, but the texture is a little different with Dolce Pink having a lot more sparkle, both are pigmented though and are a very pretty muted pink flush on the cheeks. Laura Geller’s blush runs $28 where Milani is about $8.
Not Dupes: Ok I have seen it all around- Milani Luminoso blush is a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush ($30), and as you can see it really is not. Luminoso is very warm and very peach where Orgasm is a pinky peach with gold shimmer. There is a lot of pink in Orgasm but the gold shimmer gives it a peachy effect where there is virtually no pink in Luminoso. I’m still on the hunt for a NARS Orgasm dupe in the drugstore- that blush is pretty special so it must be hard to duplicate! If you know of one- do tell in the comments below!
Do you have any dupes you care to share? I will be back next week with a couple more!!
