Moment of truth- I knew that I wanted this the minute I saw the picture! The Too Faced Holiday theme this year is Christmas in New York and the packaging is beyond. #itdidnotdisappoint The Grand Hotel Cafe holiday set has three face palettes including a total of 18 shadows and 3 blushes/bronzer with a deluxe mini of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara for $49 sold at toofaced.com, sephora.com, and ulta.com.

Packaging: Too Faced really out did themselves on the packaging for this set. First off it comes in a little house/cafe and inside that house is another little house/cafe. This house has the three Palettes inside with the mascara. Not only does the roof come off but it has doors with magnetic closures. The inside of the house is decorated as a Christmas Cafe complete with decorated Christmas trees, gifts, customers, and menu. Coincidentally enough the menu coincides with the three Palettes included in the set: Peppermint Mocha (smells like peppermint), Eggnog Latte (smells like eggnog), and Gingerbread Cookie (smells like gingerbread). I mean Too Faced really has this packaging on point to the last detail! I mean I probably could have been suckered into this on packaging alone. #truestory Now let’s talk what’s inside!

Too Faced Grand Hotel Cafe Holiday 2016 Palettes

Palettes: I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect with these palettes- as sometimes quality can go down with quantity in Holiday sets, plus there are an aweful lot of metallic/glittery shades in general. To my delight, the quality/formula is quite good! There are some matte shades, satin, shimmer, glitter, and metallic shades in these palettes to go from day to night to holiday party 😉.

Peppermint Mocha– I think I was most excited for this one because of the pink blush (my fave color) Santa Baby (matte bright pink) and the shadow Christmas Blend  (light beige shimmer). The other shadows included in this palette are Peppermint Cream (matte white), Peppermint Mocha (glittery mid tone brown), Candy Cane (matte baby pink) , Sprinkles (metallic pink with purple undertone), and Coffee Chip (deep metallic brown). I love that I can use the top three colors in this palette for a simple and quick daytime eye! #nofuss I also thought the pigmentation on these were very good especially the peppermint Cream since sometimes a very light matte shade can seriously be lacking pigment. None of the glitter/metallic colors were flaky, and overall there was little powder kick up or fall out. 👍 Best of all, don’t forget the shadows and blush smell like peppermint. #sofun

Eggnog Latte– this palette houses a peach blush appropriately called Peach Cobbler (satin cool peach shade- not orange or muddy) with the following six shadows: Frosty Nog (satin off white), Eggnog Latte (metallic white gold), Iced Coffee (shimmery warm brown), Skinny Latte (matte mid tone brown), Cold Brew (glittery metallic dark taupe) , and Central Park (metallic forest green). This Central Park shade is to die for, so pigmented, smooth and buttery for a forest green metallic shade- hope it won’t be muddy on the eyes because I’m going to find an excuse to wear this. Now this holiday set does not come with a highlight, but I’m pretty sure in a pinch that you could use this Eggnog Lattte eye shadow as one! #smellslikeeggnog #morelikevanilla #andthatsok

Gingerbread Cookie– this palette is deeper than the other two and includes a bronzer called Gingerbread (demi-matte with visible sparkle, but the sparkle doesn’t translate on the face when wearing, shade is a neutral bronze and was not too dark for my fair skin or too orange). The six shadows are: Ginger Cream (matte cream with a peach undertone- practically the color of my skin), Maple Syrup (matte deep brown) , Gingersnap (gorgeous metallic gold), Winter Dream (metallic lavender), Cup of Joe (shimmery espresso brown), and Black Coffee (matte black).  #andofcoursesmellslikegingerbread

Overall, I am pleased with this Holiday set! I feel that there are a great variety of shades and some that I don’t already own in my stash. I like that all the face colors (2 blushes/bronzer) are pigmented appropriately, blend easily on the face, and are all wearable colors. I definitely recommend! What do you think? Is this something that’s going to be added to your wish list for the holidays? #noregrets #gladIstalkedit
