One of the last minute items that I bought during the Sephora VIB sale was this NARS Sarah Moon blush in Impudique ($30) and it has turned out to be one of my favorite purchases from that sale or even the whole month of November! It is no longer at Sephora US, but is available on Sephora Canada, Narscosmetics.com, and Nordstrom (and many other places that sells NARS- Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Saks). I will say that it has become increasingly harder to find. I heard that it was similar to NARS Orgasm blush which is a beauty cult favorite, but that blush never showed up very well on me. I “heard” that it was more pigmented and a very unique blush color- and those beauty gurus were correct!
This blush is your standard sized NARS blush at .16 oz and is part of the Limited Edition Sarah Moon release. This blush is being described by NARS as a “pink red”. This blush looks different in different light and has a beautiful warm glow to it- not a glitter, but a luminosity that is so beautiful. When I first opened the blush I thought it looked almost brick red or orange (which I am not in to) but in a different light it looked more reddish/raspberry. It does in deed apply to the face with a raspberry flush with a warm gold glow undertone. I think what makes this blush intriguing and unique is that it is both warm and cool at the same time (neutral!) and does not apply as warm on the face as it looks in the pan. It is almost iridescent. I have also found this blush to go with a lot of looks because of this- smokey eyes, neutral eyes, red lips, nude lips etc. This blush is a deeper and more pigmented version of Orgasm (less peach) and since I am fair, I have to use a very light hand! Sometimes I even tap off my blush brush on my hand first before applying to my face, but it gives the best “I’ve been out in the cold” glow. #itsathing #keepingitpg This blush could work for all skin tones from deep, medium, to fair like me. I swear as soon as it got colder I turned another shade of pale 🙁 Below I added a comparison stock photo- You can see the raspberry undertone in the Sephora photo vs the Nordstrom photo.
In general, NARS blushes are awesome. If there’s one thing NARS does well- it’s blush. #lipproductsnotsomuch Their blushes are always good quality, pigmented, and easy to blend. They have a wide range of colors for blushes as well and they are a little pricey for a blush. I mean $30 for .16 oz- ouch. But oh so worth it! These blushes will last you forever. Well they will last me forever because I can never hit pan on a blush. #has100blushes I will post more pictures of this blush when I am able to take photos in direct sunlight of the blush itself and the swatches. These pics were taken inside due to the crummy overcast weather here the last couple of days. So in summary, I love it and it was totally worth it- especially on sale 😉 #getitwhileyoucan
